BLUNT is proud to present a Limited Edition umbrella featuring the work of celebrated New Zealand artist Karl Maughan. Known for his vibrant and evocative oil paintings, Maughan has spent nearly four decades exploring the cultivated garden as a framework for painting, developing a visual language that is both immersive and full of life. His worlds feel both familiar and otherworldly—"gardening without all the effort," as Maughan puts it. The design featured on this BLUNT umbrella is drawn from Rawhiti Terrace (2018), a layered, abundant composition that typifies Maughan's ever-in-bloom gardens. Using impressionist techniques and energetic brushwork, he builds vibrant flora and foliage that verge on the fantastical.
